Foal diary

Bay filly by Dubawi out of Portmanteau

I was born in Newmarket on 6th February 2011 and when I was two weeks old I moved to Aston Upthorpe Stud in Oxfordshire. My Mum is Portmanteau who won two races in England. I have a full-brother called Hunter's Light who has won three times at Listed level this year. My dad is Dubawi who is one of the world's best young stallions and his first children are doing very well indeed at the races.

You can see me pictured above with my mum which was taken when I was four months old.

I have now been weaned and I live in a field with lots of other friends and as you can see above, I am very nosy!

On 1 January 2012, I officially turned one and am now classed as a yearling. I recently moved back to Newmarket to White Lodge Stud, and I am continuing to grow big and strong.

This photo was taken in June and I am having lots of fun running around in the paddock with my friends.

I moved to Darley's pre-training yard in Newmarket in October 2012. Here I was broken in and learned to have a rider on my back before moving to be trained at Godolphin in January 2013.

In November last year my full-brother Hunter's Light won the Premio Roma in Italy, a Group 1 race, hopefully I will be as good as him!

I have been named Chortle.

I am learning all the time with Godolphin, so hopefully it won't be long before I run.

In the last year my full-brother Hunter’s Light won another Group 1 race in Dubai and although I haven’t quite won yet I am confident that I can put my experience to good use on the race track in my three-year-old season.
