Foal diary

Top Trump

Chesnut filly by Raven's Pass out of Epitome

Hey there! I was born at Hadrian Stud (which is right next to Dalham Hall Stud) on 4 February 2016. I spent the first few days getting to know my Mum, who is named Epitome, before spending time out in the field with some other mares and foals.

My mum is very good at producing winners - so far seven of her foals have won at the races. Her best yet is my half-brother Ultra (whose Dad is Darley stallion Manduro), who won a G1 race in France on the day of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe last year.

Darley stallion Raven's Pass is my Dad - he was a record-breaker when he was racing and his best win was in the Breeders' Cup Classic in the United States. He has now fathered lots of winners and hopefully I can become another one for the family when I start my training at the end of next year.

In early November 2016 I moved to America which is very exciting as it is of course where my dad, Raven’s Pass, won his biggest race in the Breeders’ Cup Classic! Now I am a yearling I am living at a farm called Racelands which is in Kentucky.

I’m loving life in the US of A! Here you can see me enjoying time out in the paddock with my friends – I’m the one on the left. We’re all growing up fast and making the most of the hot Kentucky summer.

On 1 January 2018, I officially turned two and am now called a two-year-old. I have moved back to the UK and a trainer has been chosen for me. I am enjoying a few more weeks resting in the paddock before learning how to become a racehorse! Hopefully you will see me at a racecourse in 2019 once I have finished my pre-training programme. I have been named Top Trump.
